Anden Tours is a small mountain bike operator based in Cucunubá, a colonial town two hours north of Bogotá surrounded by steep green hills. They have run guided mountain bike and trekking tours in Colombia since 2013, with groups of six riders at most. Their site has German and English versions.

We know these trails. Between 2022 and 2023 we ran our own enduro days in Cucunubá: a lift took riders to the top of the mountain, and we rode down trails built by local downhill and enduro riders, with names like El Abismo (The Abyss) and The Snake. The last trail of the day dropped straight into town, in time for lunch.

The tours

These are the tours Anden Tours publishes, with prices checked on October 5, 2026:

Tour Length Level Price
Cucunubá bike park 4 days Not stated €690
Backroad Tour, Bogotá to Barichara (hardtail MTB or gravel) 8 days Intermediate €1,890
Backroad Tour by e-bike 8 days Intermediate €2,190
Colombia Enduro MTB Tour, Bogotá to Salento 8 days Advanced (S2 trails) €1,890, e-bike upgrade €80 a day

The Backroad tour goes from Bogotá north through Zipaquirá and its Salt Cathedral, past a lake at about 3,000 meters, through Villa de Leyva and its dry landscapes, and down to the waterfalls and stone streets of Barichara. Expect 50 to 60 km a day and up to 1,000 meters of climbing. The price includes the airport transfer, lodging, breakfast and lunch, a guide and a support vehicle.

The enduro tour starts on the Siete Montañas trails in Cucunubá, continues to Manizales, where Enduro World Series races have been held, stops at the Santa Rosa hot springs and ends in Salento, in the coffee region.

Who it suits

Anden Tours fits riders who want to see the Andes from the saddle with a local who knows the trails, and who are fine with long days at altitude: Cucunubá sits at 2,590 m and parts of the routes go higher. If you’ve never ridden off-road, the e-bike Backroad tour is the gentlest option; ask us whether a shorter ride can be arranged.

If you’re in Bogotá and only have a morning, a city ride is a better fit: see our guide to Bogotá bike tours.

Questions travelers ask

What level do I need?
The 8-day Backroad tour is rated intermediate, and the e-bike option makes it accessible to fit riders who aren't experts. The enduro tour lists intermediate but its FAQ recommends advanced riders comfortable on S2 trails.
Can I bring my own bike?
Yes, Anden Tours says you're welcome to bring your own. Otherwise you can choose a hardtail MTB, gravel bike or e-bike on most tours.
When is the best time to ride?
Anden Tours recommends the dry season, from December to March.
How big are the groups?
Six riders maximum, according to their site. The Backroad tour needs at least four participants to run.
Do I need insurance?
They recommend travel insurance that covers cycling, and they provide local emergency insurance during the tour.
