Arriero's Grill: traditional Colombian food one block from Usaquén's square
Where we take travelers for ajiaco, bandeja paisa and a proper Colombian breakfast in Bogotá. 2026 menu prices, hours and what to order at Arriero's in Usaquén.

Arriero’s Grill is a Colombian restaurant in Usaquén, the old colonial town in the north of Bogotá, one block from the main square where the Sunday flea market sets up. It serves food from all over the country: ajiaco from Bogotá, bandeja paisa from Antioquia, sancocho, cazuelas and grilled meats, plus a proper Colombian breakfast on weekends. In the evening there’s live music and, when the night goes long, karaoke.
It’s where we send travelers who ask us for “real Colombian food” in Bogotá and want to try several regional dishes in one sitting.

- What should I order if I've never had Colombian food?
- Ajiaco is Bogotá's signature dish: a chicken and three-potato soup flavored with guascas, served with capers, cream, avocado and rice. If you're hungry, the bandeja paisa is the classic plate from Antioquia. For breakfast on weekends, try the calentao or the changua.

- According to the restaurant's website: Monday to Thursday noon–10 p.m., Friday noon–midnight, Saturday 8 a.m.–midnight, Sunday and holidays 8 a.m.–6:30 p.m. Google and TripAdvisor show slightly different times, so check before you go.
- Is it far from where tourists stay?
- Usaquén is in the north of Bogotá. From La Candelaria or Chapinero most visitors take a taxi or a ride-hailing app; travel time depends a lot on traffic. Our Usaquén guide has the options.
